After the border in Cambodia

the bus went over to the right side of the road - that is that the traffic direction has changed to the right side, but we actually stayed in the left lane and started overtaking everything that moved. To put some emphasis on the driving speed of the bus we overtook everyone with a lot of honking. Not Indian Horn OK please, but not far from it. The driver moved the tempo up a tad, we were going very fast, which I guess would still be around 80 km/h but in two lanes with potholes and counter traffic, it's still pretty exciting.
Another noticeable change was the amount of alcohol ads popping up all of the sudden. They were on the side of the houses and shops, almost all of them beer ads, and all in combination with a wedding.
Happy couple in front of a Vespa and beer on the background. Happy couple with a car and beer. Happy couple with the Big Ben and beer. Happy couple, cash and beer. What on earth?
I mean, if I think about it, it can make sense out of it, sure. Beer and marriage and things you could win. The promise of eternal happiness, big dreams that probably don't come true although it was promised to you in front of the whole society. All you'll actually have is a belly and a slightly bitter aftertaste in your mouth.
It makes sense but it would be a bit cynical as message when you just entered the country.
